Welcome to Shida Night Market(師大路夜市)....er..Ximending (西門町)

Well, according to me, Shida night market has now be revenovated into Ximending (西門町). So after I got off from work, I decided to wander a bit and was going to make my way to Shida St. night Market to meet up with LJue (師大路夜市). Afterall, as long as I find Roosevelt Rd (羅斯福路), it shouldn't be too difficult as everything is down Roosevelt. Well, I never really did find Roosevelt, but I continued wandering as I figured I would run into it, soon. or at least, into a MRT station. No such luck. i called LJue and told her that I didn't really know where I am, but I was quite certain that I was not going to make it to Shida.

After like 2 hours of wandering, I end up at a place that seemed like a night market, so I thought, "ok I might as well explore a bit, I will try to lacate myself as I see road signs" It took me about 45 mins to locate myself and I realize that I was in Ximending (西門町)

around 2200, I decided that I should probably get going as I have a TERRIBLE sense of direction (you should know by now if you didnt know before) and the MRT stops running at 0000. During my exploration around Ximending, I found the MRT station. But now that ireally needed to use it, I couldn't really find it. It was about 2215 when I decide to go into a hotel and ask where the station was. The clerk told me itwas about 5 minutes walk, up ahead. and so I proceed. Now being the genius that I am, I thought "hmm, maybe I should take the public bus instead, since the bus costs the same no matter how many stations you take" I saw that bus 232 had "Taipei Main Station" on it and got on.

5 mins into the ride, it didn't quite feel right, so I asked a girl standing next to me whether it was going to Taipei Main Station (TMS). It was head away from TMS. oh my. she suggested that I asked the bus driver. I waited a full 5 mins before I had the guts to. At the next stop, he told me to get off, go across the street, and wait for bus 232. (I cannot believe that I forgot that buses go in opposite directions to selected final destinations). I saw a street with many carts down it and wanted to explore, but as it was already 2230, I didn't think it was the best idea since I didn't know how often and when buses come at that time of night. AND if I didnt get to TMS by 0000, I would have to walk back from TMS to Gongguan, which would take, at the very least, around an 1hr and a 1/2 (considering that I couldn't find Roosevelt earlier that day, it would have been a SUPER bad idea)

many, many buses came by. none was bus 232. the store behind me even closed for the night. where was bus 232?!? it was 2305 when the bus came. I got on RELIEVED and got to TMS and went home to Gongguan at around 2340.

What an adventure!
